Notion: Making Collaborative Learning Easy and Fun!
I have been a crazy fan of Notion since the junior year of my university when I was preparing for studying abroad. However, at that time, I only used it for note-taking and making to-do lists. Through Week 5's lesson in ICT, I got to know that it can also be applied in classroom collaborative writing.
This is my dashboard for Notion
Why Notion?
All-in-One Tool
Notion is like a Swiss Army knife—great for notes, tasks, databases, and even websites. Students can organize materials, plan projects, and collaborate seamlessly.Real-Time Collaboration
Multiple users can edit the same page simultaneously. Teachers can leave comments, and students can work together without version chaos.Simple and Stylish
Notion’s clean design makes it easy to use, and students will love building their own knowledge bases. In Chinese social platform called XiaoHongshu, many bloggers use Notion to display their thoughts.Works Everywhere
Accessible on computers, tablets, and phones, Notion lets students and teachers stay connected anytime.
How to Use It?
Create a Class Workspace
Set up sections for course materials, assignments, discussions, and projects. Students can access and edit as needed.Assign Tasks
Create task lists with deadlines and assign them to groups. Students can submit work directly on the page.Real-Time Feedback
For example, if students run into issues during a group project, I can leave comments directly on their page to offer guidance. Students can also comment on each other’s work, fostering a supportive learning environment.Showcase Work
Notion pages can be designed to look visually appealing, so students can use them to present their work—whether it’s a project report, study notes, or even a personal blog.
Of course, Notion has a few drawbacks. For example, the free version has some limitations, and you might need to pay for advanced features. Also, younger students might need some time to get familiar with the interface. But with a little guidance, these issues can be easily overcome.
What a wonderful post, I like your structure which is really clear and detailed.
