Is BBC Learning English applicable in real English teaching and learning?

To the question of my tile, the answer can be: Absolutely yes! I have been used BBC Learning English's materials as my English learning source since the sophomore year of my university. I promise that whether you're a beginner or an advanced learner, this platform has something for everyone. But like any tool, it has its pros and cons. Let’s break it down and see how it can be used effectively, especially in a classroom setting.

Pros: Why BBC Learning English works

1. Variety of Content

   Seriously, BBC Learning English is like an all-you-can-eat buffet for English learners, since it offers a huge range of materials—grammar lessons, vocabulary exercises, pronunciation tips, and even news-based learning. Whether you're into podcasts, videos, or quizzes, there’s something to suit every learning style. My teacher once used a course in BBC Learning English to teach us phonetic symbols (as shown below), I consider that I will use this material to teach my students as well. I can say that my British accent was influenced by the anchorwoman in pic, though my accent is not so authentic.

The podcast I follow: BBC 6 minutes English is also known by one of our classmate from UZ, she mentioned that she was really into it .    Since BBC Learning English doesn’t offer progress tracking, you can design your own quizzes based on the content your students are studying. This way, you can assess their understanding and identify areas where they might need extra help.

3. Export and Analyse Data

   By combining BBC Learning English with an LMS, you can export data on student performance and use it to tailor your lessons. For example, if you notice most students are struggling with a particular grammar topic, you can spend more time on it in class.

4. Encourage Collaboration
